The Pistons can’t rely on 3-point shooting with their current rotation. They also can’t win if they make opponents feel as if they’re participating in the All-Star Game’s 3-point shooting contest.

Detroit ended its losing streak at seven games Friday night, in large part because it did a much better job of contesting 3-point attempts. Milwaukee shot 17.6 percent (3 of 17) from long range in the Pistons’ 88-80 home victory. Just four nights earlier in Milwaukee, the Bucks made 10 of 17 3-point tries in a 103-82 rout over the Pistons.

“It definitely started with defense. That’s what we challenged ourselves to do,” rookie guard Brandon Knight said. “They shot a great percentage the first two games against us from the three and had a lot of easy looks and stuff in rhythm.
