Florida Online Casinos 2024

With Amendment 3 in November 2018, Florida casinos became fully legalized in the Sunshine State. Find the details about what that means for FL casinos and potentially FL sports betting here.

Florida Online Casino Rule

As of late 2019, Florida does not have legal online casinos. Amendment 3 expanded casino gambling to include fully-fledged casino locations in 2018, but no language was included to make provisions for online play.

Since 2005, Floridians have had access to legal slot terminals and other casino-style games. As of 2018, brick-and-mortar casinos have had the go-ahead to open, and it’s possible that online betting could be a reality in the state by the second half of 2020.

Now, remember that you can already bet on horses online in FL if casino isn’t exactly your thing.

As it stands, there are two Florida casinos who may be the first to offer online betting, and they are the two Seminole Hard Rock locations in Miami and Tampa. Hard Rock Casino is offering live, online casino gaming in NJ, so it’s not a stretch to imagine them offering a similar service in FL.

In addition, a merger with Isle Casino Racing through parent company Eldorado may bring the Caesars Casino brand to Florida. If this happens, Caesars already has a well-established presence with online casinos and online sports betting in other states, and could very likely bring that service to FL.

In sum, it’s not expected that online casinos will come to the Sunshine state before 2020. However, the world of legalized gambling moves quickly, and we’ve seen states expand their gambling offerings to include online play in the past.

Retail Casinos in Florida

Here’s a complete list of the Florida casinos with open locations.

A special note: some Florida horse betting tracks are also listed below, as they are often “racinos”, or racetracks with casino gambling onsite. Some of these racinos offer only poker tables and slots, while others have a full casino floor.

However, any racetrack offering greyhound racing has had to end operations, since Amendment 13 made greyhound racing illegal in the state. You can still view simulcast races and play casino games at some of these locations.
