Top Notch Tweeters: New York Knicks Embracing World of Social Media
“The Knicks Blog” often recognizes that a number of Knicks have become active Twitter members.
Players who “tweet” give fans and media alike a unique window into their everyday routines. Furthermore, they are all given an opportunity to interact with athletes like never before.
While some athletes may not “tweet” often, if at all, there are others who make it a priority to respond to fans on a daily basis, and as a result, see a rapid increase in their fan base.
C.J. Watson, a once little-known NBA backup guard (who recently signed with the Bulls), arguably is involved with his “followers” on Twitter more than any other athlete in all of sports, constantly maintaining conversation. As a result, his Twitter account has amassed over 300,000 followers (or fans, as one might see it).
In the dog days of summer (and the NBA offseason) many of the recent additions to the Knicks have taken to Twitter (and the online world of social media as a whole) in order to help their newest fans get to know them even more.
