The NBA’s Most Underrated Player
When you think of the NBA’s most underrated player, you think of Gerald Wallace, Danny Granger, or Chris Kaman. Even people making underrated players lists forget about this guy: Jason Thompson.
If you ask an average fan of the NBA who Jason Thompson is, they wouldn’t have a clue. Thompson, in his second NBA season for the Sacramento Kings, is almost averaging a double-double…in his sophomore season. He averages about 13 points and nine rebounds. What Thompson does often goes forgotten because of the lowly Kings status. It doesn’t really help when you have Kevin Martin and Tyreke Evans as your teammates.
The Kings actually have some solid building blocks with Thompson and Evans. Thompson is the only real inside threat the Kings have, and as a second year player he’s still maturing.
This guy deserves some respect around the league. People don’t really know about the good work this kid is putting in for his team. So the next time you watch the Kings play, look out for this kid. And he’s in his second year so, he can only get better.
