General manager Sam Presti was rumored to be a candidate for several openings this summer, but the 33-year-old quickly shot down any speculation. He’s got a good thing going in Oklahoma City and knows it.

Presti agreed to a multi-year extension with the club. Terms were not disclosed.

“We are fortunate to have Sam leading our basketball organization,” Thunder chairman Clay Bennett said. “He is extremely committed to the growth of our franchise, of our players and this community. He has helped build an identity for this organization that we can all be proud of.

“I look forward to our continued work together as we experience the challenges of creating sustainable success.”

Presti is presiding over one of the league’s youngest and most talented teams.

Sam Presti has agreed to a multiyear contract extension to remain the general manager of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Team chairman Clay Bennett announced the deal Thursday but did not reveal terms. Presti finished second in the voting for the NBA's executive of the year award last season after the Thunder had a league-best 27-win improvement.
