The Pacers are about to take a risk with another second-round pick.

They hope this risk turns out better than the first one.

The Pacers, who have had a quiet offseason, signed second-round pick Lance Stephenson to a multi-year contract. Stephenson, who was projected as a future lottery pick during his high school playing days in New York, turned a lot of heads with a strong performance during the Orlando summer league in early July.

“Lance had a very good summer league,” Pacers general manager David Morway said. “We put him at the point guard position, and he had not played that position very much in the past.”

Stephenson averaged 14.8 points and shot 73 percent in four games in Orlando.
